Privacy Policy
Short version: no accounts, no ad pixels, and nothing sold. We use one analytics tool, we store public profile details for handles added to the board, and we delete them on request.

The short version
Analytics and cookies
We use DataFast to understand how people find and use the site — which pages get visited and which sources send traffic. It records things like the page viewed, the referring source, and general device, browser and country-level information.
DataFast sets cookies to recognise a returning visitor so those numbers aren't wildly inflated. That is the only cookie-based tracking on the site. We do not run advertising pixels, we are not part of an ad network, and we never sell or share this data. You can block or clear these cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site works fine without them. See DataFast's privacy policy for how they handle it as our processor.
What we store
When a public Instagram handle is added to the board, we save the following about that profile:
- Handle — the Instagram username.
- Display name and verified status.
- Profile picture, copied to our own storage so the board doesn't hotlink Instagram.
- Follower and post counts at the time we fetched them.
- Bid value and the timestamps for when the entry was created and last refreshed.
All of this is information that is already publicly visible on the profile. We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, private posts, direct messages, or anything behind a login.
Where it comes from
Profile details are fetched from the public Instagram profile through a third-party scraping service (Apify) at the moment a handle is added. We do not re-fetch on every page view.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare — hosting, database and image storage.
- Apify — one-time public profile fetching.
- DataFast — website analytics.
- Polar — payment processing and merchant of record.
Payments
Bids are paid through Polar, which acts as merchant of record. You enter your card details on Polar's own checkout page — they never pass through our servers and we cannot see them.
When a payment completes, Polar tells us the order reference, the amount, and the email address you used at checkout. We store those against the bid so we have a record of what was paid for which handle. We use that email only to answer questions about a payment; it is not added to a mailing list. Polar's handling of your data is covered by Polar's privacy policy.
Local storage on your device
Aside from the analytics cookies described above, we store a single value in your browser's local storage, instabid-theme, to remember whether you chose light or dark mode. It is not an identifier, it never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Server logs
Our host processes standard request data such as IP address and user agent to serve traffic and block abuse. We do not build profiles from it or use it for advertising.
Getting your profile removed
Email yash@typethink.ai and we will delete your entry and its stored profile picture. No account verification hoops, no explanation required. If you'd also like the handle blocked from being re-added, say so and we'll do that too.
Children
This site is not directed at children. If you believe a minor's profile has been added, email us and we will remove it promptly.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
